Rich in protein, fibre and essential Omega 6 & 9 unsaturated fats, Egusi comes from seeds harvested from a variety of bitter melon grown in countries like Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana and Mali.
Egusi seeds are so versatile and can be served in a variety of ways:
- whole, as a snack: typically the seeds are toasted with salt & spices to taste
- roast and ground to powder for use as soups, steamed puddings, or meat patties as it is protein rich and can replace animal protein for a vegan diet
